Eseriani Wildlife Association.

Eseriani stands in the Maa language for peace.  It is a new network of concerned people created in July 2012 on facebook:http://www.facebook.com/groups/eserianiwildlife/permalink/259983540788603/.

The group aims at preventing human wildlife conflicts and conserve Kenyan wildlife by working closely together with local communities and wildlife authorities to mediate and mitigate any form of conflict.  The organization is registered in Kenya with the registrar of societies as an association.

While researching hard on innovations that could assist us in achieving our mandate and we decided to experiment a crowd map on Human-Wildlife conflict in Kenya: https://eseriani.crowdmap.com.

This tool would enable members of the public to report even anonymously on the problems they experience on site. The information send to us will be verified and forwarded to resource persons able to assist in prevention and mitigation of such conflicts. All reports from locations will be visualised on the map. This output will provide our authorities and government with a better idea of hotspots for further decision-making and will foster better relations between parties involved.
